  • Account Information: When you register as a rider or passenger, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and profile picture (optional).
  • Rider Verification Data: For riders, we collect driving licence details, vehicle registration certificate (RC), identity proof, and a photograph for manual verification.
  • Payment Information: We collect payment method details (credit/debit card, UPI ID) processed through our PCI-compliant payment partners. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

1.2 Location Information

We collect precise location data (GPS) when you use the app to book a ride, track a trip, or when riders are online. We may also derive approximate location from your IP address. You can control location permissions through your device settings.

1.3 Usage and Device Information

  • Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Ride history, transaction records, ratings, chat messages, and call logs (masked).
  • App usage patterns, features accessed, and interaction with advertisements.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To process ride bookings, connect you with riders/passengers, facilitate payments, and provide customer support.
  • Safety & Security: To verify rider credentials manually, enable masked calling, detect fraud, and provide emergency assistance (SOS).
  • Personalisation: To show relevant ride options, targeted advertisements (with consent), and improve your experience.
  • Communication: To send transactional alerts, ride confirmations, promotional offers (if opted in), and respond to your queries.
  • Analytics & Improvement: To analyse usage trends, monitor system performance, and develop new features.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

  • Riders/Passengers: During a ride, your first name, pickup location, and masked phone number are shared with the other party to enable the trip.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist us with payment processing, cloud hosting, SMS/email delivery, and customer support. They are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal & Safety: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RAIO TAXI, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Ride history and transaction data are retained for at least 7 years for legal and accounting purposes. Verification documents are stored securely for the duration of a rider's active engagement plus 2 years.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), regular security audits, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format).
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
